If you are like me, you hate having something hanging around your neck. That's especially true of heavy DSLR cameras, and even more so when you're using an even heavier telephoto lens. As a newspaper reporter, I often have to attend events, including sporting events, and take photos. I've seen other photographers using similar rigs, and when I asked them about theirs it turns out they're using the expensive, name-brand versions of belt "holster." I figured that since this costs about a quarter of what the expensive rigs cost I would give it a try. I have not been disappointed. A few caveats: I'm a big guy. If you've got a waist that is larger than about 46 inches you may want to give this a pass, because it won't fit you very well if at all. If you're under 44 inches in the waist, though, this will fit fine. Another thing you should consider is that the tiny little strings with clips that are on the bigger belt clips are there for a reason. When you get it, you'll probably think they're an annoyance, but they serve a purpose: if for some reason the main clips fail, those little ones will give you just a few seconds to keep your camera from hitting the ground. Buckle both sets of clips. Incidentally, the build quality is excellent for the price. There's a little stitching that is coming loose on mine but it's just trim and does not affect function or even appearance thus far, and I've been using this belt for months now. Pros: +Gets your camera off your neck and on your waist, which can handle the weight of your gear more effectively. +Build quality is more than adequate. This will take a beating. +Tiny "backup" belt clips do their job, fortunately for me and my camera – you'll want to clip them first when you put this on! +Cost. This costs a fraction of what the "professionals" use, and it does the job just as well in my experience. Cons: -If you're a bigger person, like me, you should be aware that a 44" waist is pushing the limits of this belt's abilities. <o
Outstanding. Feels very comfortable , tactical even. Absolutely no stress on my hips. I have d5100 with sigma 24-105 lens, when it is sitting in the belt it cuts the weight down by 2/3rds. Very natural position. So far, thank you for making a great product.
Durable, light weight & makes it easy access to my camera.
Works great. Like a spider camera holster but at a fraction of the cost.
Surprisingly high quality. Velcrow can be tough at times. But mostly perfect.
you get what you paid for
For the price, you really can't beat this holster. I love having my camera off of my neck and this belt holster is really comfortable and allows me to "hold" my camera all day without any strain on my arms or neck. The velcro closure is long and has never once come undone accidentally even a little bit. The release plate screw that helps it attach to the camera seems to be a tad shallow to me, but I've not yet had an issue with it loosening. I have gotten into the habit of checking the tightness of the screw before I leave the studio or house.
good way to carry additional camera while on location.
Its ok , but needs some craftmanship and quality control on its materials , but for the price its ok. Seems it will work for the intended buying purpose.
Purchased this as an alternative to the standard neck strap for my Nikon D90, and I love it. Being a photographer this helps to quickly connect the camera to my side so that i can do other things. Then quickly have the camera back in my hands to take pictures. Love it I don't know why i didn't purchase this earlier.
This is a great strap - it makes the camera feel secure and I like that it's off center and hanging in a natural way to grip the camera and use for quick access. It takes a little while getting used to the mechanism of getting it in/out of the bracket, but it's not too bad once you practice. For me - I'm small - only 5' 0" and small hands...it is NOT a one handed operation, which was disappointing, but it still felt secure and kept it on me which is what I was primarily going for. For the price it is a good value if you want a hip mounted holster. The padding on the shoe mount is nice too - no scratching or rubbing on my nice camera.
All in all for the price a pretty good belt to hold your camera as you go around.
I am not sure what Andoer means as there is no reference to that on the product I received. Is is the company or the brand. Anyway, the one I received is branded Kabote and it is great! Since I have a small waist (32) there's lots of velcro to secure the belt. Even with a 300mm lens on the camera, the strap held up. I wanted to keep my wrist strap and my sling carrier if possible it is that configurable. There were no instructions in the box but based on what others have shown, it is quite simpe. Point the "horns" towards the front of the camera. Put the aluminium plate on first, then stack the rest on top. Photos 1 has only the wrist strap adapter on. Photo 2 has the tripod plate on top of the wrist strap adapter.
This System is perfect, i love it, cames exactly as described. The purpose of this review is to answer with pictures a big question which many users as i make in the past: Can i use a regular Handstrap / Handgrip with this system belt holster ??? , and the answer is : YES , fits perfect and feels great in my hand. You can see the pictures, my camera is a Canon DSLR 500D. I give 4 stars to the item cause the holster metal(really strong metal) piece came with little mark signs from the manufacturing process. Thank for learn my review, regards. English's not my native language im from Venezuela, i use a Miami Courier Libertyexpress to bring it to my country.
I couldn't be happier. Inexpensive and is SUCH an asset to being on-location. I can be hands free to discuss or show a pose to clients. This one looks JUST LIKE the more expensive models and does the trick. It does have a great buckle plus a mini-catch buckle. In my case I didn't snap the main buckle all the way and it was caught by the mini-catch. Anyway, A great purchase. I feel my camera is very secure with the holster design. The piece that hooks to my camera is very sturdy and solidly attaches to the camera tripod mount. I keep a flathead screwdriver in my camera bag in the case I would need to remove it.
Surprisingly high quality. Velcrow can be tough at times. But mostly perfect.
LOVE LOVE LOVE this!!! Has to be one of the best investments I have made to-date for my camera! I have a bad neck and back, having my camera with the heavy lenses hanging around my neck all day just DOES NOT work for me. With this belt my camera is securely strapped to my waist. Highly recommend obtaining the hand strap to use with the belt for better grip.
