Just received the stove. Assembly was easy, parts fit very well. I placed an oven heat protector under it, and after taking a few minutes to find some twigs and feed them into the stove, I started a fire and made a breakfast of eggs and potatoes. I am amazed at how well the stove works. Almost no smoke, and plenty of heat. It takes a while to cool down by itself. If I were camping, I would want to douse all embers until they were out, and cool the stove. Leaning the stove is easier if you use soap on the blackened parts before firing it up.
I wanted to switch from my jet boil stove to a firebox stove for many years. After seeing this stove and it's reviews, I thought I'd give it a try since it's only 1/4 the price of the firebox stove. This stove really rocks , it burns wood extremely efficiently and when using an alcohol stove , it provides sufficient wind relief for a functional stove. This stove is solid and I expect many years of service from it while still being light enough for backpacking . I can't imagine anyone outside the hard-core lightweight crew to find a flaw with the stove, buy it you'll like it..
I waited until I used this a few times before writing this, and of course, life happened, and I'm just now getting to this. I have to say that I am quite impressed with this little stove and wished that I had had one years ago. The build seems quite durable, yet light and easy to pack. I have to say that I have been impressed with the heat this generates off of just twigs and such laying on the ground. All in all, it gets up to temperature to boil water a lot quicker than laying stuff out, gathering limbs and building a fire as I had done on little outings or carrying a fuel stove--and goodness the price of fuel! Very pleased with this!
This little stove is awesome. Grab a bunch of dry twigs and small branches, get the stove lit, KEEP IT FED, and you're off to a hot cup of coffee or a hot meal in a few minutes.
light, easy to put together, use no fuel just small pieces of wood. easy to contain the fire. perfect for bikers
I have several twig stoves, and one other secondary burn type stove. This stove seems to work better than my other stoves, or any of my friends' stoves. I'm really happy with it, and enjoy using it. I travel cross country a lot, and I like to pull into a rest area, and fire up this little stove to heat a can of soup, or water for a Mountain House meal. I do a quick clean up, and I'm back on the road in no time. What I like most is the cross shaped pot holder. It allows large pans, and also cups smaller than the diameter of the stove. I also like the grill they included with this stove. It is the perfect size for cooking a burger over this stove, and something I couldn't really do with any of my other stoves. I'm impressed with the way it packs up, and stores in its own little mesh bag. There's also a little room in the bag for matches, fire starter, and a cleaning pad. The stove feels very stable, even with a fairly heavy pot on top of it. I've used a 10 inch cast iron skillet on it without any problems. It works just as well with my Stanley cup. Every fuel I've tried has worked well, including leaves, twigs, wood pellets, compressed paper and sawdust, pine cones, jacaranda tree seed pods, and alcohol. With the gap in the pot holder part of the stove, it's easy to add fuel, if you need to. I would buy this again, if the need arose. I would recommend this stove to anyone needing a small, efficient stove that isn't picky about fuel. It is very versatile, and would work well for camping, power off emergencies, or for inclusion in a bug out bag.
My test run was on my porch in 5 degree weather. I used newspaper and a handful of wood pellets, and had a nice fire going in seconds. The flames were very even, and a kettle of water was boiling in just a few minutes. I can't wait to try it out on the trails.
I'm extremely thrilled with my new Lixada. It's like having several different camp stoves in one carry. Can use practically anything that fits as fuel, and can feed the fire without handling the cookpot. There's no worries of breaking any pins or movable parts. Came with an "alcohol pan", I've yet tried. Denatured or cube fuel, It just adds to the versatility if do choose to use.
This little stove is perfect for me, I just love it. I travel full-time and I am an avid Backpacker and hiker, so this allows me to cook on the move at any time. I often can't full-time in the forest, so this allows me to gather small pieces of wood to fuel my fire, therefore I am always able to cook even without fuel. Love, love this little bad boy. It is very easy to use and simple to assemble. You have the option to use fuel or wood for cooking.
Worked awesome got fire started quickly with it. And was able to keep fire going using just a few sticks here and there. Boiled our water super fast.
